Scouting in Marple...
Scouting in Marple started in 1908 and has grown from strength to strength ever since. We are currently home to three Beaver colonies, three Cub packs, two Scout troops, two Explorer units and a Scout Network group.
We rely on group fundraiser to keep Scouting in Marple running and affordable so that all young people in Marple have the opportunity to join in and gain valuable #SkillsForLife.
What are Scouts?
Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But, we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.
Every week we give over 300 6-25 year olds the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.
Everyone’s welcome here. Regardless of the young persons physical ability, race or background, there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it.

Could Scouting Be For You?
You bet it could! There's a place in Scouting for everyone.
Joining as an adult volunteer:
Volunteering can be a brilliant way to boost your mental wellbeing. It’s a great feeling knowing you’re helping young people get skills for life, and you might even learn a lot about yourself along the way.
Scouts can make you feel good in other ways too. We’ll guide you to an opportunity where you’ll:
-
Make friends and meet people
-
Try new things and challenge yourself
-
Get outdoors and get stuck in
-
Positively impact your community
-
Create vital opportunities for young people
-
Make memories that'll last a lifetime
If you can only occasionally help, that’s OK. Whether you’d like to be an activity planner, tea-maker or craft creator, we appreciate any time you can spare.
Joining as a young person:
Our waiting lists are currently very long due to leader numbers. You can find our how to join our waiting lists by clicking the link on this page.
